Document Summary

The SIP3662LR1N is a two-in-one light sensor module with ambient light sensing, color sensing, and proximity detection functions (for use with an external transmitter).

The color sensor in the SIP3662LR1N features four ambient light sensing channels and four sets of high-sensitivity, low-dark-current photodiodes with specific RGBW optical filters. These are key components of the device, appropriately mimicking the human eye's response and supporting accurate measurements of illuminance, chromaticity, and correlated color temperature from various ambient light sources. Precise timing control and independent gain settings for different channels facilitate measurements over a wide range of illuminance levels. Measurements can be stored in a built-in FIFO or data register and then output via the I2C communication port.

The proximity sensor in the SIP3662LR1N features an ultra-sensitive, low-noise photodiode covered with an appropriate optical filter to match the 940nm infrared emission while filtering out most of the power from non-target wavelengths of ambient light. Its signal chain also performs ambient light cancellation and noise suppression, resulting in a higher signal-to-noise ratio response to reflected light from objects. Internally, the SIP3662LR1N incorporates two factory-calibrated high-precision VCSEL drivers to drive an external 940nm infrared emitter for a more consistent proximity response. Both emission power and sensitivity levels are configurable to optimize the user experience in object detection applications.

The SIP3662LR1N has a built-in temperature sensor and a temperature drift compensation design, which helps to achieve a more stable response.
