The SIP3510 is a three-in-one light sensor module that integrates a high-performance ambient light sensor, an infrared proximity sensor, and an infrared LED with a peak wavelength of 940nm. The ALS measures ambient light illuminance, while the proximity sensor is sensitive to the signal of the infrared LED light reflected from objects. The response value is output through the I2C communication port.

The SIP3510 has two internal ALS channels. Two photodiodes with ultra-high sensitivity and low dark current, each equipped with a specific optical filter, are key components of the ALS, appropriately mimicking the human eye's response and accurately responding to various light sources. Precise timing control and independent gain settings for each channel facilitate the measurement of a wide range of illuminance levels.

The SIP3510 incorporates a proximity sensor with a proximity photodiode covered by an appropriate optical filter to match a 940nm infrared LED emitter, while simultaneously filtering out ambient light noise. The built-in signal chain further performs ambient light cancellation and noise suppression, resulting in a higher signal-to-noise ratio response for the proximity sensor to reflected light from objects. The SIP3510 also features a configurable infrared LED driver to drive the module's built-in 940nm infrared LED emitter. This driver supports factory calibration for a more consistent proximity response, contributing to a better user experience in object detection applications.
