The SIA9189 is a mono digital input Class-D audio amplifier with a built-in 10.5V dynamic boost converter, optimized for efficiently driving high peak power from small speakers.
It supports a wide power supply voltage range of 2.1V to 5.5V.
This Class D amplifier can drive speakers from 4Ω to 8Ω and can provide up to 6W of output power (8Ω, without clipping) at a battery voltage of 4.2V.
The Y-bridge output architecture, powered by 1.8V and with related power control schemes, improves overall efficiency at low output power levels and in idle mode.
Integrated speaker voltage and current detection capabilities enable real-time monitoring of the speaker, helping external algorithms protect the speaker from damage.
To avoid popping sounds when muting during a large input signal, you can use soft volume control and the mute function.
The SIA9189 also provides over-temperature protection, thermal foldback, overcurrent protection (for Y-bridge and main power stages), and undervoltage protection to protect the chip.
It offers fully configurable low-battery protection to control gain or maximum boost voltage and prevent system shutdown.
The SIA9189 can be configured by an external processor via I2C. Up to four SIA9189 devices can share the same bus via I2S/TDM and I2C interfaces.
The chip is packaged in a 36-ball WLCSP with a 0.35mm pitch. The product can operate over a wide temperature range of -40°C to +85°C.
