The SIA5118FR1N is a mono digital input Class-D audio amplifier optimized for efficiently driving high peak power from small speakers.
It supports high-voltage power supplies up to 16V. A power tracking peak voltage limiter optimizes the amplifier's dynamic headroom. A multi-threshold undervoltage protection scheme allows for reduced gain in the signal path when the power supply drops to a critical level.
This Class D amplifier can drive speakers with a current of 4Ω to 8Ω.
The Y-bridge output architecture and related control scheme improve overall efficiency at low output power levels and in idle mode.
Integrated speaker voltage and current detection capabilities enable real-time monitoring of the speaker, helping external algorithms protect the speaker from damage.
In addition, an OPC (Power Limiter) and a 1-band filter (EQ2) are provided to protect the speakers without requiring algorithms. To avoid popping sounds when muting during high input signals, soft volume control and a mute function are available.
The SIA5118FR1N also provides over-temperature protection, over-current protection, and under-voltage protection to protect the chip.
The SIA5118FR1N can be configured by an external processor via I2C. Up to eight SIA5118FR1N devices can share the same bus via I2S/TDM and I2C interfaces, allowing multiple SIA5118FR1N devices in a system to be connected to the same I2C bus.
The chip is packaged in a 30-pin FCQFN package with a 0.4mm pitch. The product can operate over a wide temperature range of -40°C to +85°C.
