Silicon Integrated SIP series optical sensing ICs

The roadmap of SIP series optical sensors can cover the broad needs of optical sensing in smart devices. This series includes ALS (Ambient Light Sensing), proximity/color/multi-spectral/flicker sensing and ToF (Time of Flight) sensing capabilities. The products are designed with SI self-owned high-performance IPs and advanced optics which, paired with SI algorithm, can meet increasingly demanding customer requirements in a complete solution package.

We now have several products in mass production. E.g., the SIP3515 and SIP3617 ALS+Proximity 3-in-1 modules which can fit in all-screen phones’ top slit. Thanks to the IR LED/IR VCSEL in SIP3515/SiP3517, these products have extremely high sensitivities and crosstalk rejections, supporting designs without optical waveguides and spacers.

In addition, there are the SIP1225, an ultra-small high sensitivity ALS sensor; The SIP3625, a color+proximity 2-in-1 sensor module for behind-OLED applications. As well as color+ flicker sensor and multi-spectral+flicker sensor products in the pipeline.

  • Package dimensions: 2.0x1.0x0.35mm
  • Dual ALS channels with color filters similar to human eye responses
  • Suitable for behind-OLED applications
  • Sensitivity <0.2mLux/count @100ms, max gain, LED
  • Compatible with 1.2V/1.8V IO

  • Package dimensions: 3.34x1.35x0.6mm
  • XYZ filter, sensitivity <0.1mLux/count @100ms, max gain, LED
  • Class 1 Laser eye safety, 3-channel VCSEL driver with current accuracy<1%
  • High ambient light rejection, cross talk compensation and SNR
  • Compatible with 1.2V/1.8V IO
  • On-chip FIFO memory for high speed sampling
